Description
DURABASE CI++ matting is designed to decouple tiles from the substrate, effectively bridging small cracks and preventing them from affecting the tiled surface. It also compensates for residual moisture by equalising water vapour pressure, making it an excellent choice for renovation projects. At mat joints, the use of sealing tape is recommended for optimal results.
The special nodule structure of the matting creates channels that balance water vapour pressure while allowing thin-bed mortar to fill in and provide strong weight distribution. This ensures that loads are evenly spread, enabling tiles to withstand greater stress, provided they have sufficient thickness. For high-traffic or heavily stressed areas, tiles should be at least 13 mm thick or selected according to the location’s requirements.
Important Note: DURABASE CI++ is not suitable for slimline tiles or small-format tiles under 50 x 50 mm, as there is a risk of breakage. A 4mm x 4mm notched trowel is recommended for fixing the matting to the substrate.
Suitable Surfaces: Cement screed, calcium sulphate screed, hot screeds, mastic asphalt screeds, concrete, synthetic laminates and coatings, plywood, chipboard, and wooden floorboards.
Material Properties: Made of yellow polypropylene with a mesh fabric and polypropylene fleece backing, DURABASE CI++ offers high resistance to many chemicals, including salts, acids, and alkalis at low concentrations. For use under heavy chemical exposure, the concentration, temperature, and duration must be evaluated before installation.
