DURABASE CI++ Matting is a premium decoupling solution designed for installation beneath tiles, providing excellent crack-bridging and moisture compensation. By separating the tile covering from the substrate, it minimizes stress transfer and enhances durability, making it ideal for renovation projects. For secure, waterproof joints, sealing tape is recommended during installation.
The matting’s nodule structure forms vapor-equalizing channels, while its textured surface—filled with thin-bed mortar—ensures even load distribution across the floor. This design improves tile resilience, allowing the surface to handle higher stresses when used with sufficiently thick tiles. In heavy-traffic or high-load areas, tiles of at least 13mm thickness are recommended.
Important Note: DURABASE CI++ is not suitable for slimline large-format tiles or small tiles under 50 × 50 mm, as there is a risk of breakage. For best results, a 4mm x 4mm notched trowel should be used to install the matting.
Compatible with a wide range of substrates—including cement screed, calcium sulphate screed, hot screeds, mastic asphalt, concrete, laminates, coatings, plywood, chipboard, and wooden floorboards—this system offers great versatility.
Constructed from yellow polypropylene with a mesh fabric and polypropylene backing fleece, DURABASE CI++ delivers excellent resistance to salts, acids, and alkalis in low concentrations. For environments with heavy chemical exposure, factors such as chemical concentration, temperature, and contact duration must be considered prior to installation.
