Description
The DURABASE CI++ Decoupling Mat is a high-quality underlay system designed to protect tiled surfaces by bridging cracks, equalising water vapour pressure, and separating tiles from the substrate. This makes it especially effective for renovation projects where small cracks or residual moisture could otherwise compromise the tiling. For secure and watertight joints, the use of sealing tape is recommended.
Thanks to its structured nodule design, DURABASE CI++ creates channels that balance vapour pressure while allowing thin-bed mortar to fill the textured surface. This distributes loads evenly, enabling tiled floors to withstand higher stresses when paired with tiles of sufficient thickness. In heavily used or high-stress environments, tiles of at least 13mm thickness should be selected for reliable durability.
Important Note: The matting is not suitable for slimline large-format tiles or for small tiles under 50 × 50mm, as these may break. For best results, installation should be carried out using a 4mm x 4mm notched trowel.
Compatible Substrates include: cement screed, calcium sulphate screed (anhydrite), hot screeds, mastic asphalt, concrete, laminates, coatings, plywood, chipboard, and wooden floorboards.
Manufactured from yellow polypropylene with a polypropylene mesh fabric and backing fleece, DURABASE CI++ offers strong resistance to salts, acids, and alkalis at low concentrations. For applications with heavy chemical exposure, factors such as concentration, temperature, and contact time should be checked in advance.
