DURABASE CI++ matting is a high-performance solution designed to decouple tiles from the substrate, effectively bridging small cracks and preventing them from affecting the tiled surface. Its unique nodular structure creates channels that equalise water vapour pressure, making it especially suitable for areas with residual moisture and ideal for renovation projects. The matting also distributes weight evenly through its textured design, which is filled with thin-bed mortar, ensuring that tiles can withstand higher stresses when the correct tile thickness is used (minimum 13 mm in heavy-duty areas). Made from durable yellow polypropylene with mesh fabric and backing fleece, DURABASE CI++ is resistant to many chemicals such as salts, acids, and alkalis at low concentrations. It is suitable for use on a wide range of surfaces including cement screed, anhydrite screed, hot screeds, asphalt screeds, concrete, laminates, plywood, chipboard, and wooden floorboards. However, it is not suitable for slimline tiles or small-format tiles under 50 x 50 mm due to breakage risks. For proper installation, a 4 mm x 4 mm notched trowel is recommended to fix the matting securely to the substrate.
